Dancing Through Life

This is a poem i wrote in school about Harriet Tubman | March 30, 2010

Tital: Harriet Tubman

Out in the fields you’ll find her.

Exausted from the heat, but still standing strong.

She’ll be bent over with a hoe in her hands,

Working extremely hard, while singing a song.

Harriet is a pretty, but rough looking girl.

Her hair is dark as night, and her eyes are black as coal

She is abused by Master and treated badly

But somehow there’s always love in her soul

Out in the fields she does whatever she is told

She secretly thinks about escaping, even if it would be far

That idea seems foolish to her family

She won’t give up because every night she sees the warm light of the North Star

Hope you liked it!!!!! If you liked this post, keep coming back for more:)
